Ten new teachers at Elsberry Schools

The Elsberry School District welcomes 10 new certified teachers to their classrooms this year. The high school welcomes three new faces to the staff. Elsberry Alumni, Scott Kroeger will be the new Biology teacher. He attended Lindenwood University majoring in Biology. The English department will have two new faces; both ladies bring experience to the classroom. Carolyn Harman will handle the higher level classes that include English IV honors, English IV, and English III honors. She brings thirteen years experience, after spending time at Troy R-III and Hollister schools. After spending the last eight years teaching in Nevada, Jodi O’Keeffe made the move to Missouri to fill the second English position. She will be teaching English II and III to sophomores and juniors. New to the position, but not a new face to the Elsberry Schools, is Megan Heitman-Pratt. After spending the last year substitute teaching and doing her student teaching, Pratt moves into a full time fifth grade teaching position.
Six new teachers will be greeting their students in elementary classrooms. Jenna Huckstep joins the fourth grade team of teachers. She is a graduate of Truman State University and comes from the North Callaway School system. Former substitute teacher for Elsberry, Cristen Tucker, will join the third grade team. She received her degree from Missouri Baptist University. Second grade students will welcome new teacher, Laura Park. Park brings experience as an intervention teacher in the Lindbergh School District. Two new ladies, Kari Kroeger-Gremaud and Mariah Ferguson, will join veteran teacher, Stephanie Morris, in the kindergarten classrooms. Gremaud is an Elsberry Alumni who received her degree from Lindenwood University and has been teaching the last three years at BONCL School. Ferguson is a former Ohio State Buckeye where she received her B.S. and Master’s in Early Childhood Education. She looks forward to the opportunity of having a classroom for the first time. Rounding out the list of new staff is Kaitlynn Lowrie who will be an Early Childhood Teacher in the preschool. This will also be her first year in a certified position.

Updated School Calendar
The Board of Education made a change to the school calendar at their August meeting. The early release date for Fall Festival was moved from October 7 to September 30, the Fall Festival activities will be held on Saturday, October 1.

Parent Portal Upgraded
The parent portal has been upgraded this summer to include a mobile app for accessing your student's data. Instructions for downloading and using the app are in the document titled "Student 360 Mobile." The parent portal will also have a different look when logging in on a PC and the document titled "Student 360 Navigation for Parents (1)" provides instructions for using this new interface. Finally, if you haven't signed up for the parent portal, you will find a copy of the parent portal agreement below. Please complete this form and return it to your building office in August.
